MHS baseball to takes on Mathews Thursday on the road

The Middlesex High School (MHS) varsity baseball team (8-7, 5-2) lost a 3-0 Tidewater District game to the King William (KW) Cavaliers on Thursday, May 8.

Henry Fleet pitched a strong game against the Cavaliers holding KW to just three runs, but the Chargers could not get their bats going in the game. MHS’s defense also committed two errors that did not help Fleet’s cause. Fleet gave up six hits and walked three batters.

The Chargers had only two hits in the game as Robbie Brown and Luke McMurtrie reached base on a hit apiece. Brothers Nathan and Nolan Rutkowski also reached base on balls.

Middlesex played at Charles City on Monday, May 12, and will play at Mathews today, Thursday, May 15, at Mathews High School. The game starts at 6 p.m. Both of these games are Tidewater District games.
