Middlesex faces Northumberland in away grid action Friday

The Middlesex High School (MHS) Charger varsity football team (5-5, 3-1) made the first round of the Region A football tournament and will play Northumberland High School (NHS) this Friday, Nov. 14, on the NHS football field in Heathsville. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Indians are ranked third in the Northern Neck District behind a powerful Essex High School and Rappahannock High School of Warsaw teams in the same league.
The Essex Trojans (10-0, 5-0) have not lost a game this season and the Rappahannock Raiders are the second seed with an 8-2, 5-1 won-loss record.
Middlesex reached the 5-5 win-loss mark with a forfeit last Friday night by the Mathews High School Blue Devils. The Blue Devils earlier this year canceled their season because of lack of players.
The Chargers are ranked number one in the Tidewater District and West Point is ranked second. The Chargers and the Pointers split wins this season but the Pointers are ranked number two in the district with a 4-6 record.
