Linwood Blayne Gresham

Linwood Blayne Gresham, 70, of Water View, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sonny and Lois Gresham; grandparents, Clarence and Alice Gresham, Richard N. Lewis and Mamie and Herman Harris; uncle, Walter Gresham; and his aunts, Phyllis Hogge and Gertrude Wilson.

He is survived by his close friend, Susan H. Gresham; son and daughter-in-law, Scott Gresham and Chris, and son Bryan Gresham; sister, Diane G. Williams; brother-in-law, Mike; niece, Kaitlyn D. Williams; granddaughter, Emma C. Gresham; grandson, Matthew C. Gresham; uncle, Clarence Gresham (Mary Evelyn); aunts, Edith Smith, Alice Carlton (Daniel) and Julia Gresham; as well as numerous cousins and great friends.

A graduate of West Point High School, Linwood attended Chowan College, worked at Newport News Shipyard, spent 31 years at Chesapeake Corporation as a welder and then owned and operated Gresham Welding Service.

In his free time he enjoyed gardening (sharing vegetables with everyone) being outside working in his yard, “piddling around” in his shop and restoring tractors.

The funeral service is set for 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10 at Morattico Baptist Church, Kilmarnock, with burial following in the church cemetery. The family received friends on Sunday, Jan. 9 from 2-5 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Northern Neck Farm Museum.
