Josh Speight of Locust Hill birdied three of his last four holes to win the Mid-Atlantic PGA Southern Chapter Championship and Southern Chapter Assistant Championship on Sept. 14.
Speight made five birdies and recored a one under par 71 to take the title by two shots over Jeff Thomas and Kellen Peery.
The championship was played at Wintergreen Resort, Stoney Creek, south of Waynesboro, under tough conditions with winds gusting 15-20 mph. Golfers played the Tuckahoe nine and Monocan nine to make up the one-day 18-hole event. There was a Regular (30 players) and Senior Division (nine players) being contested.
