Johnnie Steven Compton, 76, of Urbanna (formerly of Mechanicsville) passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019. He faithfully served God, family, country, and career as a Verizon supervisor of 37 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice Pruitt Compton; sons, Steven Thomas Compton and Matthew Jason Compton; sisters, Patricia Compton Boykin (Wilbur), Kathy Compton Webster (Keith), Cynthia Compton Mitchell (Scott) and grandchildren, Hailey Elise Compton, Amanda Paige Compton and Noah Thomas Johnston.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, in Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday.
