All participants are welcome — fast, slow, old and young. Walk, run, skip, or hop your way through the scenic back nine cart paths of Hartfield’s Piankatank River Golf Club — this race is fast and flat with a kick of Grinch’s Hill at the end!

Children are invited to chase Santa in the Kip and Patty Campbell Kids Fun Run. This short fun run begins at 9 a.m. followed by refreshments and crafts. No ribbons or medals are awarded for this event. Registration is free.

River Woodworks, Dano’s Pizza, Jamie Cornette State Farm Ins., the Revere Family Foundation, Carousel Physical Therapy, Deltaville Tap and Raw Bar, Middlesex Moose Lodge, Dr. Ben Lennon, and other leading sponsors ensure the Middlesex Family Y can serve children and families throughout the year.

Students at St. Clare Walker Middle School are designing and making 3D medals for top finishers in the 5K. Pizza and beverages will be served for the post-race celebration, and Santa will be ready to visit with all ages. Teams of runners and walkers are preparing to outshine each other with holiday costumes. A sleigh full of school supplies will be collected at the Y and at the race and the Middlesex High School band will get everyone pumped for the season.

To participate in the fun, register for the race online at https://runsignup.com/Race/VA/Hartfield/JingleBell5KKidsFunRun. A limited number of spots are available. Registration will close on, or before, Dec. 2, but to guarantee your shirt size, please register by Nov. 21. (Please note: No race day registration.)
