James C. Stevens Jr., 88, of Hardyville, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023.
He retired from Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown. He was a man who was a firm believer in hard work, which was something he instilled in his children while growing up.
He was a husband who always appreciated the love of his life, Mrs. Elizabeth. His family of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren will miss their grandpa. But of his many achievements in life, his greatest was accepting Christ as his Savior. Dad has now been ushered into the presence of King Jesus. “Love you Dad.”
He is survived by his children, J.C. Stevens (Beth), Michael Stevens (Jeantte) and Shelia Musick; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at Gwynn’s Island Cemetery. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, is assisting the family.
