Additional details
Please note that because of very limited availability of counselors this year, returns with itemized deductions (long form) or original returns for tax years prior to 2025 will not be prepared at the Gloucester or Mathews libraries.
It is necessary when you come for your appointment at all locations to bring all your tax documents for 2025, photo IDs (driver’s licenses) for the taxpayer and spouse, Social Security cards for taxpayers listed on the return and dependents, banking information for direct deposit (a blank check is preferable) and last year’s tax return if available. Arrive about 15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete the required paperwork.
For updated information or if you have any questions, please leave a message on the Middle Peninsula Tax Aide line at 804-654-1407. Do not request appointments on this number.
Volunteers needed
“We are always looking for volunteers,” said a Tax Aide rep. “In addition to preparing taxes, we need help with administrative tasks, such as greeting taxpayers and managing computer equipment. If you or anyone else are interested in volunteering to do taxes, go to aarpfoundation.org/taxaidevolunteer to learn more.”
