Francis “Gary” Holmberg, 77, passed away the morning of Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Carroll County Hospital.
He was previously battling dementia and results are pending whether COVID-19 ultimately took his life.
He is survived by his two children, Tracy Shavell of Frederick, Md., and Robert Holmberg of Mechanicsville, Md.
He had worked as a firefighter for the Washington, D.C., fire department.
A memorial service will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to your local fire company.
