The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 33 will offer a Virginia Boating Safety Education course from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 2 at Yankee Point Yacht Club, 734 Oak Hill Road, Lancaster.
In this free one-day class, participants will earn the required certificate to operate a powerboat in Virginia, said Public Education Officer Win Schwab.
Topics will include boating operations, safe boating practices, navigation signs and boating responsibilities.
