Fitchett, Shelton being memorialized

The new 241 Baseball League will play games in honor of Grayson Shelton on Friday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m. and played on Tuesday, July 27, in honor of the late Alex Fitchett, who died two years ago on July 27, 2019. The night honoring Grayson will be played at the Deltaville Ballpark.

Grayson was a Middlesex High School (MHS) senior, who passed away during the school year. Alex was an all-state high school ball player for MHS and a star on the Legion Post 241 Baseball championship team. He also played for the Deltaville Deltas.

Last two weeks scores

Scores from the last two weeks include:

• Northumberland defeated Gloucester, 8-5.

• Lancaster defeated Middlesex*, 12-0.

• Williamsburg defeated Mathews, 9-4.

• Northumberland defeated Middlesex, 9-7.

• Williamsburg defeated Rappahannock, 12-7

• Mathews defeated Middlesex*, 10-1.

• Williamsburg defeated Gloucester, 6-4.

Coming week’s schedule

The schedule this upcoming week includes:

• Thursday, July 29 — Middlesex versus Gloucester at Deltaville Ballpark and Middlesex* versus Northumberland at Dream Fields in Kilmarnock.

• Friday, July 30 — Richmond County versus Mathews at Deltaville Ballpark.

• Monday, Aug. 2 — Middlesex versus Williamsburg at Deltaville Ballpark and Mathews versus Northumberland at Dream Fields.

• Tuesday, Aug. 3 — Middlesex* versus Gloucester at Deltaville Ballpark and Richmond County versus Lancaster at Dream Fields.
