The Virginia Funeral Directors Association (VFDA) conducted its 138th annual convention at the Marriott Oceanfront Resort in Virginia Beach from June 7-9.

This year’s convention theme, planned by outgoing VFDA President Gregg Faulkner Sr., right, of Faulkner Funeral Homes & Cremation Services in Mathews, Middlesex, and Tappahannock was VA/America 250 to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Virginia and the United States. There were several excellent speakers during the conference, including Daniele Wilk from Dover Port Mortuary and Joseph L. Hull SSG (Ret.) Commemorative Chair Society of the Honor Guard, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The VFDA has been in existence since 1888 and is the oldest Funeral Service organization in Virginia.
