About 40 descendants of GTB “Gam” Miller and Jeter W. Blake gathered on the banks of Locklies Creek in Topping last Saturday at the home of Alta and the late Dabney Nevelle Miller. The Millers and Blakes made their living harvesting oysters from the Rappahannock River and by farming land in the Topping area. The Millers and Blakes were devoted members of Harmony Grove Baptist Church where many of their descendants are members today.
