Six players return to the 2025-2026 Middlesex High School junior varsity volleyball team, including Jordyn Williams, Julia Dise, Claire Dise, Molly Trudeau, Evara Gagnon-Porter and Kinsey McKittrick.
They are backed up by seven new players, including Allie Davenport, Jordyn Williams, Scarlet Elias, Clarissa Vaupel, Aubri Harris, Lili Burch and Isabella Taylor. Coach Jackie Baker takes on leadership of the JV Lady Chargers, who kicked off this season on Aug. 26 with a win over visiting Lancaster in two sets.
Excellent serving from Julia Dise, Eva Gagnon and Claire Dise helped the JV Lady Chargers get a comfortable lead in both games, noted Coach Baker. Consistent passing from Clarissa Vaupel and Eva Gagnon in the back court allowed the JV Lady Chargers to have several well placed kills from hitters Allie Davenport and Julia Dise. Scarlet Elias did a great job setting and accurate assists.
Coach Baker said the eighth grade volleyball program “has a strong pipeline of up and coming players,” an indication of future volleyball team depth.
Last year the JV Lady Chargers “had a very successful campaign with only one loss to Rappahannock, our big rival,” Coach Baker said. Several JV players moved up to the varsity squad this year including Annie Bray, Sophie Wilds, Vada Reinhardt and Lailah Baylor.
The JV Chargers played at Northumberland on Tuesday; and host Rappahannock of Warsaw tonight, Thursday, Sept. 4, at 5:30 p.m. The varsity plays at 7 p.m.
