Churches in Brief: December 4, 2025

Harmony Grove Baptist Church (HGBC) will welcome Santa and friends to a free breakfast of pancakes, sausage with a beverage on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. HGBC is located at 7722 General Puller Highway in Harmony Village (near Topping).

In order to get an accurate number of attendees, please call 804-758-5154, or email secretaryharmonygrove@ breezeline.net Tuesdays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Please come and enjoy a free breakfast, community fellowship and some holiday fun to support the children in the Middlesex County area. A photo opportunity with Santa will be available during the breakfast.

Harmony Grove Baptist Church is again serving as a collection point for Middlesex County Toys For Tots this Christmas season, so if possible, please donate new, unwrapped toys to the drive for our children. The collection box is located in the HGBC Fellowship Hall. All toys are then sent to the Middlesex Social Services for distribution locally. The collection deadline is Dec. 12.

Through the first week of December, they will also take up a monetary collection for the teenage boys and girls of Middlesex County. So often, teens are overlooked during this season of giving or it’s difficult to provide what teens like so monetary gifts for teens are needed. Please write your check to Harmony Grove Baptist Church and mark your contribution with “Teens Only.”

“Let’s make sure our children and teens can have a truly blessed Christmas,” a Harmony Grove spokesman said.

This year, Christ Church Parish will decorate a tree for the Urbanna Festival of Trees on Dec. 6, adding to the town’s festive display.
