Charles “Bill” Arthur Evans, 81, of Laneview, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022 after a long battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Sometimes referred to as “Wild Bill,” he was born in Butylo on April 22, 1941 to Frank Easterly Evans and Susie Dobbins Croxton Evans.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his younger sister, Mary-Ann Evans Davis; and his younger brother, John “Johnny” Malcomb Evans.
He is survived by his youngest brother, Carl Easterly Evans; his sons, Frank K. Evans (Kelly) and Michael Tom Evans (Gerry); his nephew, Mark Anthony Evans (Claire); four grandchildren, Frank (Victoria), Thomas, Isabel and Jane Evans, and 2 great grandchildren, Hayden and Caleb Evans; and great-nephews Wyatt and Kai Evans.
A celebration of life for Wild Bill is planned for Saturday, Nov. 5 at Glebe Landing Baptist Church at 1498 Glebe Landing Road in Laneview. Please bring your stories of Wild Bill. There will be a receiving of friends and family starting at 1 p.m. The service will begin at 2 p.m. Join everyone afterwards for fellowship and refreshments.
