It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty R. Miller on Friday, January 28, 2022.
Betty was born in Middlesex County on Oct. 5, 1950 to Gill and Elfleda Rector. She was a graduate of Middlesex High School, Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management in Charlottesville, and the School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
Upon graduation from high school, she began her 47 year banking career with the Bank of Middlesex in Urbanna. Leaving the bank in 1985, she worked for several mortgage companies before returning as branch manager of Southside Bank in Urbanna in 1994. In September 2011, she was promoted as a market manager of EVB Bank, overseeing eight branches. She retired as a senior vice president on Dec. 1, 2015.
