Anne Margaret (Mabe) Witmer, 65, passed away at home on Thursday, May 14, 2026, after suffering from heart problems and being under a doctor’s care.
Anne was born in Richmond on Oct. 11, 1960.
She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1982 with a degree in psychology.
Following graduation, Anne served in various positions, including work with Southern Tile Distributors in Richmond and at the Wake Post Office. She also volunteered as a consultant for online chatrooms with AOL, where she enjoyed connecting with and helping others.
Anne married Jeff Witmer in 1987 at Philippi Church. Together they shared 39 years of marriage and made their home in Wake. Anne was a devoted stepmother to Jason, Jeremy, and Tiffany Witmer.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Witmer; her brother, Rick Mabe; her aunt, Nancy Bensen of Midlothian; her cousin, Susan Ann York of Midlothian; and her step-grandchildren, Codie and Maiya Witmer of North Carolina, and Taven and Taylor Nichols of South Carolina.
Anne will be cremated and interred during a private ceremony in Wake.
