Alverda Hazzard Soles, 81, of Saluda, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Franklin and Mary Jefferies Hazzard. Alverda was also preceded in death by her husband of 50-plus years, Hugh S. Soles.
Alverda was a member of Olivet Baptist Church in Shanghai, Va. She kept the books for her husband’s business and helped where needed. She was a devoted wife and the best mother that always supported her family, making sure they came first. She will always be in our hearts and forever missed until we meet again.
She is survived by her daughters, Joy Soles and Julie Soles, as well as family and friends.
A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29 at Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery, King and Queen County. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 at Faulkner Funeral Home, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda.
