Deltas sink Richmond Pirates

The Deltaville Deltas stayed hot Saturday night, defeating the Richmond Pirates by 20 runs, and played the Richmond Brewers on Tuesday night in Richmond (results were unavailable at press time). The Deltas sit comfortably atop the Richmond NABA’s eastern division standings.

The Deltas will be up against a tough challenge on Saturday night, as they host the undefeated Richmond Trash Pandas of the league’s western division. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, the Deltas travel to Tappahannock for a 3 p.m. road contest on the campus of Essex High School. Deltaville will hit the road again on Wednesday for a second matchup with the Trash Pandas, this time in a 7 p.m. game at J.R. Tucker High School in Richmond.

Jacob Houston blasted four hits — including a first inning grand slam — and drove in seven runs as the Deltas cruised to a decisive victory on Saturday night at Deltaville Ballpark.

The only thing that held back the Deltas offense on Saturday night was mother nature…
