Min Tassone

Min Tassone

Min Tassone peacefully passed into the hands of the Lord on the evening of Wednesday, July 28, 2021, with her son Bob by her side.

She was born Domenica Chiulli Tassone, in North Providence, Rhode Island, on Sept. 3, 1927.

When she was a teenager, she met a neighborhood boy named Bruno, and Min and Bruno were pretty much inseparable after that for almost 70 years. Bruno went to serve in the U.S. Army in World War II, and when he returned in 1946, they were married.

During the 1950s and 1960s, Min was busy raising her three boys: John, Donald and Robert.

Min retired from Miller and Rhodes department store in 1986. But her real life’s work was caring for her children, and then their spouses; and then her grandchildren and even her great-grandchildren. She was always very close to her siblings and everyone in her extended family.

Predeceasing her was her husband, Bruno Tassone; and her brothers, Tony, Zin and Henry Chiulli. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Vecchiarino and her husband, Joe; and by her children, John Tassone and his wife Sue, Donald Tassone and his wife Lauren, and Robert Tassone and his wife Tab. Min enjoyed and is survived by eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Min had multitudes of friends, because she cared for so much for so many people. She was always ready to go and have some fun. She was generous with her time in the church, and with her cooking; always ready to make cookies or a birthday cake to brighten someone’s day. As you can imagine, she will be missed every day.

There was a Mass of Resurrection 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2 at Catholic Church of the Visitation in Topping. The family received visitors starting at 9:30 a.m. Burial in the church cemetery followed the Mass. Lunch was served after the Mass and burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Church of the Visitation Building Fund, Topping,  or to the American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements were by Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda.
