Urbanna Main Street (UMS) recently announced its acceptance into Cohort 8 of the Mission Elevation Program, a flagship capacity-building initiative offered by the Virginia Community Development Corporation (VCDC). UMS is one of a select group of nonprofit organizations across Virginia chosen to participate in the year-long program.
Mission Elevation is designed to help nonprofit organizations strengthen leadership, solve complex organizational challenges, and build the internal capacity needed to create lasting community impact. Since its launch, the program has supported more than 40 organizations and 80-plus nonprofit leaders, generating more than $24 million in measurable organizational impact — approximately $80 for every $1 invested.
“Being accepted into Mission Elevation is a tremendous opportunity for Urbanna Main Street,” said Meghan Hall, executive director of UMS. “As we continue to grow our programs, expand community partnerships, and advance our vision for Downtown Urbanna, having dedicated coaching, peer learning, and implementation support will help us build the organizational foundation to do even more for this community.”
