
The Middlesex High School (MHS) 4 by 800 meter relay team broke a 2015 Charger school record mark of 8:40.44 by cruising to an 8:27.92 time at the second annual Denbigh Patriot Track Classic Invitational on Saturday in Newport News.
The 4 by 800 meter relay team was the only first place finish for the Chargers in the meet. The record breaking 4 by 800 meter team was composed of Cameron Lambert, Thomas Dobb, Darius Jones and Gunnar Marston.
Others to score were Nielson McMinn, with a discus throw of 144-feet. He finished in second place in the event. Aaron Stokes of Churchland High School won the event with a 163-foot, 5-inch throw.
Jamar Hammond finished second in the high jump with a 5’ 10” jump; Lambert, second, 1,600 meters (4:41.27); Dobb, sixth, 1,600 meters (4:51.63); and McMinn, sixth, shot put (40’ 5”).
Girls track
Karadee Anderson was second in the shot put (32’ 6”) and second, discus (93’ 3”); Iyana Jenkins, fourth, 300 meters (48.41) and fifth, 100 meters (17.03); and Bailey Bagby, fifth, high jump (4’ 6”).
