Middlesex Supervisors voted unanimously on Tuesday, May 6, to approve a $75,000 six-year highway secondary road plan allocation to pave the Middlesex County Sports Complex Road  at Locust Hill.

The road runs behind St. Clare Walker Middle School and in front of the sports complex. The road will be paved from the start of the paved portion of the road to the end of the gravel road that runs down to soccer fields and bathrooms.

The approval came after a joint public hearing between the MCBS and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) was conducted on proposed funding of the Middlesex County secondary road six-year plan for years 2026-2031. No one from the public commented at the meeting.

Middlesex County is one of the few counties in the state that has all of its secondary roads paved. Canoe House Landing Road in Jamaica District was the last secondary gravel road in the county and that was paved several years ago.
