Nearly 100 ninth through 10 grade students attended a June 12 prom based at Bethpage Camp Resort. Additionally, some seniors from last year who were unable to attend their prom were invited.
“We wanted to offer them some normalcy, since we’ve had some challenging times the past year and a half,” said Stephanie Ripchick, one of the organizers. “There was delicious food, music and we also had a prom king and queen.”
They came from across the region, but at least some were Middlesex County residents, including Lexi Brandenburg, who is a homeschooled rising 10th grade student. Lexi is the daughter of Joseph and Melody Brandenburg.
Many went to Urbanna’s Portside Grill to have pre-prom appetizers, including a group, who posed on a boat docked at Portside.
