Nielson McMinn continues to make his mark on Middlesex High School (MHS) track history as the MHS senior discus whiz broke his own school record at a home track meet Thursday with a 152-foot throw.

McMinn earlier this season broke a 30-year-old school record with a 150-foot, eight-inch throw, breaking a record set in 1995 by Ajani Ruffin and elevating him as one of the top discus throwers statewide in Virginia Class 1. Coach Joel Anderson said this week that McMinn has thrown 160 feet in practice. “We are looking for Nielson to extend the school record much further before the season is over,” said Anderson.
