The nonprofit group Friends of Urbanna invited the Urbanna Town Council to a wine and cheese reception at the Town of Urbanna’s Scottish Factor/Urbanna Museum and Visitors Center on Wednesday, May 19. Dr. Paul Malone, gesturing, gave an informative history of Dr. John Mitchell, once a physician in Urbanna and maker of the map of the British and French Dominion used by Great Britain and United States officials at Paris in negotiating the treaty that terminated the Revolutionary War and recognized the independence of the United States.
