Zoar Baptist Church continues meeting outdoors near bay

Labor Day usually marks the end of Zoar Baptist Church beach worship services at Stingray Point. However, the pandemic has changed how people worship.

The Rev. John Snow, Zoar’s pastor, announced this month that Zoar will continue to meet at the beach as long as the weather allows. Locals and out-of-town residents have been worshipping this way for 48 years. There is plenty of room to spread out and worship safely. Worship is led from a stage set up in a grove of tall pines near the water. There are also designated spaces to park your car or truck and listen on the radio.
