Christine Williams, 92, of Newport News, died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024 at Yorktown Convalescent Center.
Christine is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Roy Williams Jr.; a daughter, Valerie Hope; her parents, Lucy and Wilton Powell; her brother, Thomas G. Powell Sr.; and sisters, Catherine E. Lawson and Lois P. Daniel.
Christine is survived by her son, Jerry D. Williams (Arleen); her daughter, Joanne Williams; granddaughter, Jennifer Bradford (Earl); and great-grandson, Eric Bradford. She is also survived by her sisters, Doris Lee Thrift and Louise Fulcher, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Christine is additionally survived by her “girls” — Celia Rowlson-Hall, Rachel Rodgers, and Christine Rodgers.
The family thanked Kathy and Ray Rodgers for their friendship, visits and support; and also thanked Ellen and Howard Rowlson-Hall for their friendship and support during this time.
The family also thanked York Convalescent Center and Hospice for its care and support.
A graveside home-going celebration is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10 at Hermitage Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Autism Society of Central Virginia.
Faulkner Funeral Homes, Bristow-Faulkner Chapel, Saluda, is assisting the family.
