MHS record holder continues to excel as a Bowling Green Falcon

Shot put standout Lane Anderson, MHS 2021 grad, places fifth at April 8 Tennessee Invitational Relays

Middlesex High School (MHS) record holder in the shot put and discus Lane Anderson of Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in Bowling Green, Ohio, finished fifth in the shot put at the Tennessee Invitational Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., on Saturday, April 8.

Anderson holds MHS school records in the shot put (42 feet, 5.75 inches) and discus (132 feet). At the Tennessee Invitational, the BGSU Lady Falcon finished fifth with a personal best throw of 43 feet, 10.75 inches. The winning throw in the competition was 53 feet, 6.25 inches by Lane’s teammate, Zaresha Neal.

The Middlesex High School Class of 2021 graduate recently took sixth place in the shot put at the Youngstown State University Indoor Invitation and qualified for the Mid-American Conference Indoor championships. Anderson has freshman eligibility as she red-shirted last year as a freshman and academically she is a senior.

Lane Anderson is the daughter of Joel and Angela Anderson of Hartfield. Joel Anderson is the head coach of the Middlesex High School boys track and field team, as well as the Chargers wrestling team.
