Christchurch School Seahorse swimmers excel

This past weekend, the Christchurch School Seahorse swim team competed in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) Division II State Invitational at Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center in Manassas.

The Seahorses boasted 27 personal-best individual swims. Captains of the team include local students Izzy Kiland ‘23 and Michelle Bracken ‘23, as well as Pablo Granadas Argul ‘24 and Mahaan Govender ‘23. Izzy is the daughter of Ing ‘92 and Kristin Kiland of Christchurch; Michelle is the daughter of Steve and Teresa Hinton of Gloucester; Pablo is the son of Alfredo Granadas Sanandres and Natalia Argul of Madrid, Spain, and Mahaan is the son of Ravi and Rish Govender of Johannesburg, South Africa. The team is coached by Dave Cola and Haley Wilbanks.

The 2023 VISAA Swimming and Diving Meet will be conducted at Liberty University in Lynchburg on Feb. 17 and 18.
