New art exhibit opens in White Stone

A new fine art exhibit is open at Allure Art Center in White Stone. “Artfully Wax” is a multimedia painting exhibit featuring two professional Virginia fine artists who utilize various bees wax techniques in their works. The people who have seen the exhibit already have marveled at the techniques and commented that you truly must see them in person to fully appreciate the works.

Anne Stine is best known for her encaustic mixed media paintings that reflect an intimate, human connection with the natural world. She adds a contemporary twist to landscape painting by combining oils with encaustic beeswax medium, then fuses each layer using heat onto a wood panel.

Julie Fritz, a Virginia artist whose works feature oil, cold wax and often earth elements will also be featured. “All of my landscapes are grounded in a real place and time, the creeks, rivers, bays, the lakes, and oceans…”

Julie Fritz will be offering a Cold Wax Painting Workshop on July 31 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Contact Allure Art Center today for registration information as spaces are limited. You can email info@allureartcenter.com or call 804-323-3169.
