Thanks to citizens’ tips and a quick thinking youth, the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has arrested and charged an Urbanna area man with taking indecent liberties with a child, reported Major M.E. Sampson of the MCSO.
According to Maj. Sampson, on Tuesday, July 20, an individual in a white van approached a 12-year-old Urbanna youth at Taber Park in the Town of Urbanna and attempted to solicit sexual favors. The youth had ridden a bicycle to Taber Park and was swinging on the swing set when a white van occupied by a man pulled up and parked. He exited the vehicle and opened the back hatch. The suspect then started to open the sliding door and reportedly asked the youth several sexually explicit….
