Middlesex surges in region playoffs

Charger volleyball squad collars Royal Tigers of King & Queen Central 25-6, 25-13, 25-10

The Middlesex High School (MHS) volleyball team defeated visiting King and Queen Central on Monday, April 12, with scores of 25-6, 25-13 and 25-10 in the opening round of the Region 1A Tournament.

The Lady Chargers (13-0) hosted Mathews on Wednesday, April 14, in the semifinals.  

Also on Monday, visiting Mathews advanced by defeating Northampton in three sets. Lancaster defeated Northumberland in a five-game match and Rappahannock defeated West Point in three sets.

Rappahannock played Lancaster on Wednesday.

The winners play on Friday at 6 p.m. for the championship. Middlesex will host if it defeated Mathews. Lady Charger matches will be streamed live via Facebook at Middlesex High School volleyball and on YouTube at https://bit.ly/3vb4E1P…
