MC supervisors surprised by price tag on revamp of Whiting Creek Landing

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors learned at its March 2 board meeting that the low bid for the Whiting Creek parking and bulkhead project was more than anticipated.

The low bid for the work came from William Wills Construction at $70,392. The bid states that the project can be completed within 60 days of contract award, said Middlesex Planning Director Dave Kretz. A second bid came in at $73,000.

The low bid amount “tripped” over the anticipated cost of $50,000 and funding for the project will have to come from the fiscal 2021-2022 budget, which is currently in the planning stages…
