Can you believe summer is almost over and Labor Day is looking at us? We have not yet even had our reggae!

Well, our troubles are over. This Saturday, Aug. 22, Middlesex County-based Stuck on a Name band will be on stage 6-8 p.m. to solve all our reggae/musical issues. It will headline the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park’s Groovin’ in the Park concert.

The group will play under the trees on the museum’s outdoor stage overlooking the waters of Mill Creek. There won’t be palm trees, but it won’t make any difference as Stuck on a Name lays down that island beat! No worries. Be happy!

Stones Throw, an opening band, precedes Stuck on a Name at 5 p.m. The Gloucester-based acoustic rock duo plays a variety of classic rock, southern rock, country and some Jimmy Buffett. “We play all hit songs, no duds,” it reads on the group’s Facebook page. “Eagles, Allman Brothers, CSNY, Neil Young, etc.”

Venue gates open at 4 p.m.

Working out of Urbanna, Stuck on a Name is a reggae/ska band with a loyal following. Playing originals as well as covering classic favorites from these genres (and more), sometimes with a reggae/ska twist. Influences for the band include, among others, The Debonaires, Bob Marley and Sublime. Close your eyes and you’re in the islands, “Mon”!

Stuck on a Name includes Joe Gaskins, guitar and vocals; Drew Luffey, guitar and lead vocals; Jonny Brinkley, bass guitar; Dwayne Page, drums; Jason Maloney, hand percussion; Chris Henley, saxophone and vocals; Kasay Smith and Toby Gillie, trumpet; and D’Andre Page, keyboards.

Stones Throw is an acoustic music duo made up of Jeff Green of Hayes and Eddie Terrell of Yorktown. Green has been in many working bands for the past 25 years as a guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. Terrell, while not being as active in bands, is an accomplished guitarist, vocalist and pianist in his own right. He has played both guitar and piano for many years.

Stones Throw does both tunes from other artists and some originals. Audiences all agree: “No matter what they are playing they come at it from a new and fresh angle. These guys are great.” Our sound guru Jan said the duo is “unusual, unpredictable, fun!”

Due to COVID-19 concerns, we will limit tickets to all shows this year…
