The five 2020 Urbanna Oyster Festival queen contestants and their younger Little Miss Spat contestant partners have now largely completed their community fundraising projects. In total, the 10 girls volunteered 496 hours and raised $19,998 for the betterment of Middlesex County, contest organizer Wendy Burch told the Sentinel this week.
Although the main 2020 festival has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns, the contest is still going on, using safe COVID-19-aware practices. More information will be announced in coming weeks.
