Bluegrass music to be featured at Groovin’

“Rappahannock Crossing”

Deltaville Maritime Museum –

I’ve been trying to get bluegrass music back in the mix for the Groovin’ in the Park concerts for the last couple of years and I am happy to announce the appearance of the five-piece bluegrass band “Rappahannock Crossing” at Groovin’ in the Park this Saturday, September 28, from 6-8 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m.

The five members of the band specialize in close vocal harmonies and driving instrumentation. All five members contribute both instrumentally and vocally. Members of the band are Deltaville’s Randy Crittenden on dobro, guitarist Mike Nicely of Gloucester, Curtis Brizendine of West Point on banjo, 20-year old Mikayla Hyde on upright bass, and her brother, Isaac Hyde, on mandolin—both from Barhamsville.

This Saturday it’s the Holly Point Market 9 a.m.-1pm and Groovin’ in the Park from 6-8 p.m.

Tickets for Groovin’ are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Get your tickets at the museum office, on the museum website, or at Nauti Nell’s in Deltaville.
