The Middlesex High School softball team notched two shutout wins last week, defeating Mathews and West Point.
On April 29 Middlesex defeated district foe visitor Mathews 17-0. The Lady Chargers jumped all over the Lady Blue Devils in the first inning, scoring 12 runs and would never look back. Magen Daniels pitched all five innings for the Lady Chargers allowing no runs on one hit while striking out 14.
Highlights for Middlesex players include, Rylee Buck, 1-2, double, three runs scored, RBI; Libby Oliver, 1-4, double, two runs scored, three RBIs; Kayleigh Moye, 1-3, two runs scored, two RBIs; Cheyenne Musick, 1-3, two RBIs; Lailah Baylor, 1-2, run scored, two RBIs; Mary Johnson, 1-2; and Hannah Lambert, 1-2, 2 runs scored, RBI.
