No changes in tax rates for fiscal year 2025-2026
The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors took two and a half hours Monday night, with a 10-minute break in between, then long pauses followed by the question, “What do you want to do?” Then, there were two votes to deny before approving the fiscal year 2025-2026 (FY 25-26) county budget totaling $36,392,418.
The concerns stemmed around two issues — the state giving a 1.5% one-time bonus to Middlesex County state funded compensation board employees and from where $200,000 to pay the annual debt-service on the Cooks Corner sewage system was coming from out of the budget.
