The Middlesex High School (MHS) varsity baseball team split this week, defeating the Mathews Blue Devils, 14-1, on Tuesday, April 23, and losing to the West Point Pointers 5-4, on Thursday, April 25.

The Chargers are now 4-9 in the win-loss column and 3-2 in Tidewater District competition.

The Chargers beat West Point, 7-1, earlier in the season but were unable to pick up a second win as the Pointers beat MHS, 5-4, in a nail-biter.

Middlesex played Tidewater District foe Charles City on Tuesday, April 30, and is set to host King William today, Thursday, May 2. The Chargers will play the Cavaliers at 6 p.m. on Fleet Field at the Syd Thrift Athletic Complex in Saluda.
