Middlesex County Little League kicked off its regular season Saturday with an opening day ceremony at the Middlesex County Sports Complex in Locust Hill, followed by 12 games at the complex.

Former player and coach, a former board member and longtime Deltaville Deltas coach, Jerry Crittenden, threw out the first pitch and received a plaque.

The plaque read, “In recognition for your loyal service and many years of dedication and support to the Middlesex County Little League 2024.”

League President James Hatton reported that this was the 37th year that Middlesex County has been part of the official Little League program. He also announced that there were more than 225 players in the league this year.

Middlesex County Sports Complex board member Johnny Fleet thanked all volunteers who made this ball season happen. He reminded the packed stands at the ballfields that “the work we do for others is the rent we pay for life on this earth.”
