Marjorie W. Sears, 92, of Mattaponi, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert Julian Sears; and her children, Kimberly Williams (David), Janet Prince (Nelson), and Randall Sears (Tara). Also surviving to cherish her memory are six grandchildren, Blair (Johnny), Lindsey, Ryan, Suzanne, Kyle, and Kassidy; one great-grandchild, John Robert, whom she adored, and another on the way.
She was the last surviving of four older brothers and one older sister.
Mrs. Sears graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in King & Queen County in 1948.
She was a life-long active member of New Hope United Methodist Church, which was one of the greatest joys of her life.
She was a great homemaker, cook and loved family gatherings. She will be remembered for her witty humor and generous love of family and friends, and her kindness to others.
A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14 at New Hope United Methodist Church, Gloucester. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
