Sixth Urbanna pet parade Saturday

Using a “Lion King” movie-inspired theme, “Mufassa” (Kiki Ladendorf of Urbanna) leads the “Lion King” (Lincoln, her 12-year-old golden retriever) in the fifth Urbanna Pet Parade this past spring. The pair won the Most Creative award. (Photo by Don Richeson)

The Urbanna pet parade is returning to its traditional Christmastime spot —  it is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, in Taber Park at 425 Bonner St. “Just a reminder that the Children and Pet Parade is sponsored by Kiwanis and welcomes everyone, including kids with their pets,” said organizer Nancy Fisk.

“Children must be accompanied by an adult. There are prizes for kids in all categories, so we hope to see lots of kids showing off their best furry friends in festive holiday costumes. Pets must be under control and on a leash. No retractable leashes allowed.”
