2023 Urbanna Christmas celebrations slated

Urbanna will kick off the Christmas season on Saturday, Dec. 2, with a day of events that peak with the arrival of Santa Claus during the 27th annual Urbanna Hometown Christmas Parade.

Get in the Christmas spirit all day with the following events:

  • 8 a.m. — Breakfast with the elves at The Wooden Pickle Cafe, 51 Cross St.
  • 9 a.m.-4 p.m. — Alpacas by Red Barn Farms. Next to the Middlesex Woman’s Club, 202 Virginia St.
  • 9 a.m.-4  p.m. — Bayside Embroidery & Design at the Middlesex Woman’s Club.
  • 10 a.m.-3 p.m. — River House Creations Craft Market with local vendors, 240 Virginia St. Vendors!
  • 10 a.m.-8 p.m. — Wine tasting at the Urbanna Trading Co., 290 Virginia St.
  • 11 a.m.-4 p.m. — Open House at the Urbanna Museum and Visitor Center, 130 Virginia St.
  • Noon — Pet parade registration and vendors setup at Taber Park, 425 Bonner St. 
  • 1 p.m. — Pet parade at Taber Park, 425 Bonner St.
  • 3 p.m. — Children’s crafts at River House Creations, 240 Virginia St.
  • 4:30-5 p.m. — Festival of Trees and Christmas carols on the Town Green next to the Urbanna Post Office, 231 Virginia St.
  • 5 p.m. — Urbanna firehouse selling food, and DJ playing Christmas music, 330 Virginia St.
  • 5:30  p.m. — Light Maze and MHS choir performs at Taber Park, 425 Bonner St.
  • 6 p.m. – Beth Justice and Merri Hanson sing at Taber Park, 425 Bonner St.
  • 7 p.m. — Urbanna Hometown Christmas Parade begins. Parade line-up is between firehouse and the town hall, 390 Virginia St. Call the town hall to enter, 804-758-2613.
  • 8 p.m. —After the parade Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with children at the Urbanna firehouse with cookies, treats, food, 330 Virginia St.
