JaQuan Griffin, Rowan Anderson get TDs for Middlesex vs. K&Q
The Middlesex High School (MHS) Charger football team lost its final game of the season Friday night to Tidewater District rival King & Queen Central (K&Q), 48-13. MHS finishes 1-8.
The Chargers traveled to K&Q Central High School at King & Queen Courthouse and ran into a strong Royal Tiger running game. K&Q rushed for four touchdowns in the first half, three TDs coming in the first quarter. The first half ended with the Royal Tigers ahead, 28-0.
The Chargers found the end zone twice in the second half as J. Griffin scored on a 24-yard pass from MHS quarterback Cameron Lambert and Rowan Anderson scored on an 80-yard catch from Lambert. MHS kicker Wyatt St. Louis made good on one extra point kick.
The Chargers offense pretty much stalled on the ground as MHS had a total of 21 rushing yards.
Middlesex finishes fourth in Tidewater District football standings, according to MaxPreps.com. King William is district champion, followed by West Point, King & Queen Central, Middlesex and Charles City.
