Island band Barefoot Davis to perform in Deltaville Sunday

The Barefoot Davis trio is bringing its “island sounds” from the U.S. Virgin Islands to Deltaville. It will be singing original tunes as well as popular cover tunes. The group includes Derek Escher from Rhode Island on lead guitar and mandolin and Khalfani Benjamin from St. Thomas on steel pan with Davis “Barefoot” Murray joining in. (Contributed)

There’s nothing like the steel drums and rhythms of island music played in those waterfront breezes! Catch it all at the first-ever “Pop-Up Sunday” concert as Barefoot Davis comes to town this Sunday, June 18, all the way from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

So, throw on your island gear, grab your cooler and lawn chair, and come on down to the Deltaville Maritime Museum (DMM) from 2-4 p.m. for a musical trip to the islands. We’ll have everything but the palm trees! Gates open at 1 p.m.

Tickets are $10 in advance up until noon on Sunday, June 18, and $15 at the door and available at the DMM office during opening hours or by mail.

The “Bistrobunch” will be in full swing with a tiki bar and our all-beef hot dogs!

Call the office. Tickets may be purchased on the DMM website. Tickets also at Nauti Nell’s store in Deltaville.
