The Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) in Urbanna and the Upper Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department (UMVFD) in Water View are separately sponsoring a total of four evening “Santa’s Neighborhood Visits” events via fire truck in Water View, Urbanna, Burrell’s Marina Road, Remlik, Kilmer’s Point and Saluda this Friday, Dec. 9 through Monday, Dec. 12.

“We are happy to announce that Santa Claus is making a pre-Christmas visit to the Urbanna, Remlik and Saluda areas,” said MVFD Fire Chief Ray Burch. “He has asked us to allow him to ride on one of our fire trucks so he can reach out to as many children in the community as he can.”

If it rains Santa says he will cancel his visit on that night but he will see you all on Christmas Eve — rain or snow or fair weather, said Burch.

Santa’s MVFD and UMVFD fire truck schedules include:

  • Friday, Dec. 9, Water View area — 5:30-6 p.m. Santa will ride through the Water View community on a fire truck of the Upper Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department spreading cheer to all on his way to the Water View firehouse. Santa is scheduled to arrive at the firehouse about 6 p.m., where the jolly man from the North Pole will visit with children until 7 p.m. There will be hot cocoa, cookies and children’s crafts. Firefighters will be on hand providing safety tips for the holidays.
  • Saturday, Dec. 10, Urbanna area — from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Santa will ride down Waverly Road to Meadow Lane and to Garnett Hill Drive; from 7 to 7:45 p.m., the fire truck and Santa will travel down Grace Avenue, to Linden Avenue to Park Street, to Rappahannock Avenue, to Kent Street, to Cross Street, to Watling Street and across the bridge to Molly’s Way; from 7:45 to 8 p.m. Santa will also travel down Lord Mott Road to Hampstead Avenue.
  •
Sunday, Dec. 11, Remlik, Kilmer’s Point, Burrell’s Marina Road — Santa will visit 6:30 to 7 p.m. going down Flats Road to Burch Road in Remlik; from 7 to 7:45 p.m., Santa will visit Kilmer’s Point area. He’ll go to Remlik Drive, to Robinson Creek Drive, to Harbor Landing, to Cedar Point Drive, to Waterford Drive, to Kilmer Drive and will finish off at Kilmer’s Point Drive; and from 7:45 to 8 p.m., Santa will travel down Burrell’s Marina Road outside of Urbanna.
  • Monday, Dec. 12, Saluda — Santa will visit 6:30 to 7 p.m. when he travels on Oakes Landing Road to Urbanna Creek Farms subdivision; from 7 to 7:30 p.m. he’ll take Forrer Street to Watson Landing Road; from 7:30 to 7:45 p.m., he’s going from Hewitt Street to Stoneham Street; and from 7:45 to 8 p.m., Santa will stop in front of the Middlesex County Historic Courthouse building.
