Dr. Seitz addresses MC Kiwanians

The speaker at a recent Middlesex Kiwanis Club meeting was Middlesex County Public Schools (MCPS) Superintendent Traci Seitz. She is a graduate of Middlesex High School, and has served MCPS as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent, and as of May 5, as superintendent.

Dr. Seitz announced that the plan is for all three Middlesex public schools to open on Aug. 23 for in-person instruction, five days a week. She expects that the question of whether masks will be required will be discussed at next Monday’s school board meeting.

Because the last school year was such a challenging one, she plans no new initiatives. Teachers and staff will support “just in time learning,” which is designed to accommodate any individual shortfalls in learning resulting from last year’s virtual and hybrid instruction made necessary by the pandemic.
