A “Christmas in July” BBQ fundraiser to benefit Christmas Friends Inc. is planned Sunday, July 25, in Deltaville. Billy Dickerson is smoking his famous BBQ pork and the event will be hosted by YaZu Yachting, 17218 General Puller Highway.
Rachel Dickerson, Yazu Yachting office manager, said limited amounts will be available so you need to reserve your barbecue now by emailing yazubbq@gmail.com. A pound of freshly smoked barbecue is $15, and there is a limit of four per family.
Orders can be picked up at Yazu Yachting from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday. Payment must be by cash or check only.
Christmas Friends will begin its 2021 campaign in the fall but funds can be donated throughout the year. The local charity involves hundreds of volunteers who shop, wrap and deliver Christmas gifts to needy children and senior adults throughout Middlesex County.
Christmas Friends Inc. spent $28,160 last year providing a brighter Christmas for 258 needy clients.
